Favorite Watercolor Artists
When choosing our wedding save the dates, there was a little conflict (eye roll) that ultimately led to one of the best. things. ever. — Our custom watercolor invitation suite. You can read more about all of that here and here …and also here! Haha! BUT, it truly ended up being one of my favorite pieces of our planning process. Then, somewhere along the way of decorating our first (and now, second) place, I fell in love with watercolor art and I just don’t think any other element competes! I genuinely find that, while searching for art for blank spaces here and there, I’m only ever drawn to the watercolor pieces I find!
Some pieces are teeny tiny, and then there’s our extra large mantel piece- but I wanted to share the artists I’ve worked closely with (and those I’ve simply purchased prints off of their sites!) Because I’m only a few orders away from being a super fan, I’m sure!
I didn’t discover Evelyn until a little more recently when she did a custom painting of LoneStarSouthern’s home. But now, I’m hooked! My favorite piece of hers right now is this wall calendar that I’ve hung on my fridge. I also die at her precious stationary— definitely have my eye on some for Galentines!
Emily! I could go on forever, but she was just amazing. I would sketch out a (very, VERY poor draft) of what I had in mind. She would send me back a sketch, and then update me through the process of her painting. I actually just dropped off our suite at the framer last week and can’t wait have it all displayed in our home(s) forever. She was lovely in every way and so patient with my pickiness. I plan to reach out to her for every big milestone artwork I want done! The custom QUEEN!
Katherine Carney was a very happy accidental find for our home :) I randomly found her on the Instagram explore page, and just *new* her work would look stunning above our mantel. Super fun, too, because she’s right in Annapolis! So not only do we have a local artists work but we also spot her smaller pieces in local stores here in Bethany all the time. This sailboat print is just my favorite thing and that pink sailboat has my heart!
I remember the day I saw this little easel calendar for the first time in the back of someone’s instagram story, and just HAD to have it! It’s the tiniest little luxe thing and changing the month is always so much fun because of the perfect little seasonal surprise on the next card. Plus, all the designs have touches of glitter. GLITTER. I literally can’t. Plus her stationary is 10/10 too.
Sara Fitz does all the cutesy wall art things and more. My favorite “and more” being her collab with Chappywrap where they used her “pom pom sweater” watercolor painting ON THE BLANKET. I’m laying under it as I type this! Is this how far my watercolor obsession has come? Watercolored…blankets? Welllll hold me back because she also released an immaculate “striped shirt” print with OneKingsLane and I want one.
