This made me feel like I should take out my camera and have a photo shoot with Millie weekly! Look at her little poses! I love her so much it’s silly! And because I love her so much, it’s super duper important to me that she feels comfy in our home- especially since we have been (and will be until Drew finishes up school in ~5 years) living in such a small places. I know she’s happy but I feel bad if she’s in the same spot all day feeling like there’s nowhere else for her to go!

When we’re at my parents house, which is typically about 2 weeks out of every month, our family dog, Jellybean, graciously shares her (multiple, very large) beds with Millie! It is so sweet! One of them in particular is right in front of the fireplace and Millie will basically run right in and over to it. I’ve been watching her do this for the last year and knew that she would love having a dog bed of her own. You know how some dogs would just prefer the couch, or even the floor, and you kind of don’t know if they’d really appreciate a bed? Well I know Mills would love a bed. No doubt!

At night she sleeps in her crate in the cloffice, and girlfriend loves her crate. Some nights she’ll up and atom from the couch and put herself to bed! There is a dog bed inside her crate, along with a mod podge of Lilly Pulitzer throws to keep her cozy, but the bed isn’t anything fancy and definitely not the type to leave out as part practical/part decorative. It’s kind of just a black of foam. (But linking it here for those of you on the hunt for a great crate insert!)

During the days she spends her naps curled up on the couch, atop my Roller Rabbit pillows (who can blame her, girls got taste) or perched up in the corner chair watching out the window. But I just knew she'd love a bed. After searching and searching for the perfect one to accent our home and fit her sleeping needs, I found this one from Jax & Bones. Millie is both a ‘curler’ and a ‘side’ sleeper, so I wanted a bed with bolsters for her to burrow up against, as well as a cushy middle for if she’s plopped on her side. Aesthetically, I wanted a neutral or blue toned bed to go with our decor.

A RUNDOWN ON THE BED

OKAY. What you really came here to see - details on the new bed! I’m telling you I looked high low left and right for a bed that seemed perfect and I don’t know how I looked PAST this one so many times before realizing it was right in front of my face! I ordered right after Christmas, and just got it in the mail yesterday (Feb. 22) so it was a bit of a wait, but something about it being made-to-order makes it all the more chic.

A major perk of ordering it via Mark & Graham rather than straight from the Jax & Bones website is that M&G has the embroidery option which, obviously, I opted for. Millie’s bed is the color “Putty Buffalo” and I had it personalized with her name, in the font “Edith” in the color “Pink”.

Millie is about 30 lbs and is in the size Large bed.

Some things I want to note about when it arrived: It’s much lighter colored in person than in any product or review photos on their websites! I love it even more with it lighter. It looks like a creamy, latte color with a nice sand colored check (the photos above have very accurate coloring!) But in my opinion the pictures on the website make it look TAN! Which it is not. Similarly, the font color “Pink” is very raspberry. I still love it and wouldn’t have opted for any of the other choices had I known, but I was expecting a bubblegum/barbie pink rather than this fruity toned, darker pink.

Millie has literally only laid in the bed since it’s arrived! It makes my heart so happy seeing how much she loves it. The center piece is very very poofy which I bet is ultra comfy and, because she’s a Chappywrap girl through-and-through, this mini hearts blanket was a no brainer. She curls up right on it! Genuinely shocked at this incredible quality and how beautiful it looks in our living room. A treat for her, and for me!
