Garment Steamer
Details: Steamer: Salav / Dress: Vineyard Vines circa 2015 / Dress on hanger: Anthropology
It was about time I share my review on our garment steamer! This Salav steamer was on our wedding registry and gifted to us by our close friends/”cousins”! I’ll admit, I chose it mainly because I loved the colors, but it has been nothing short of a lifesaver in the last 6 months!
My mom didn’t commonly use steamers when I was younger (she is a pro ironer!) but Drew’s mom has been bringing one on vacations for forever. Nearly every night before dinner Drew and his siblings are dropping their clothes in her room to get steamed! Once I got used to the idea, probably close to 3 years ago, I distinctly remember chatting with her while she fixed up a dress of mine about the pros and cons of a garment steamer. Are they worth it? Why not just iron? Is it a lot of work?
Well- yes, eh, and no! Now that i’ve gone steamer it’s going to be hard if I ever have to go back! The process is really simple. The base plugs in, and you attach the hanging pole and the rope tube piece. Just fill the water compartment with tap water and give it about a minute to heat up. Bam! Steam! And like I mentioned, I 100% picked out this model because the colors were so pretty, but to my surprise its gorgeous and works like a dream. I also love love love the attached hanging pole! It makes it truly all-in-one and frees you from finagling hangers on doorway trim. You can also hang multiple pieces sideways on the hanger ridges- it fits up to 10 pieces!
Why not just iron? This was quicker, and far more effective. Plus, think of all those pieces you own that have tricky pleats. Ironing them is impossible without ruining the true form! Wellll here’s your solution! Highly highly recommend!
