Drew's a College Grad!

He did it! We couldn’t be prouder of Drew for all he’s accomplished at his 4.5 years at Virginia Tech! He graduated last week with a degree in Mechanical & Biomedical engineering.

Drew is one of the most humble men I know, and he works so hard at whatever he does! Fall semester of his senior year, he sat me down to tell me he doesn’t actually want to work in the engineering field. Whoops. He’s decided to go to Physician Assistant school (PA school), which is a similar path to med school without the addition of residency. The application process for PA schools are very competitive and the average age is 28, but with Drew’s grades we’re hoping he gets accepted to start early 2023- we’ll see! Before applying he’ll have to work in the medical field to get roughly 1,500 patient care hours to add to his resume. It’ll be a jam-packed next 10 months but i’m so proud of all his hard work and persistence!

Drew’s parents, siblings, and my parents came into town to celebrate with us and we had so much fun! Graduation was in the morning, followed by a little party at our apartment with all the Christmas sweets (& gifts, of course), then bowling in the afternoon and ending with dinner at 622 North- a neat restaurant in Blacksburg worthy of the occasion! Everyone came back to the apartment after for cake and the last of the “congrats” before we all headed back to Maryland the next morning to get ready for the holiday. I love celebrating Drew and wish we could throw him a party every day!

LOVE,

Jaime
