Nana turns 93!

My sweet Nana turned 93 on May 23rd! WOO! What a crazy thought- only 7 years away from the big 100!

My mom made lunch - chicken parmesan casserole and strawberry shortcake, and the three of us (mama, drew and I) went over her apartment to celebrate!

My Nana is sweet, and shy, and a total introvert. She loves to read, she’s obsessed with the weather, and she groans at the thought of Hallmark Christmas movies - but watches them anyway.

She’s also harsh. She’ll tell you if you’ve gained weight, if your food tastes bad, or if your hair cut is just “awful”. But that’s the kinda stuff that keeps life interesting!

She gives great hugs, is terribly generous to her grandchildren, and loves visitors.

I’m so lucky to have her as my grandma, to be able to hug her whenever I want, to have someone be truthful to me about what she thinks (which includes things she likes - like my artwork, my clothes, my company), and to have a little apartment to go visit if I just wanna talk about myself for a little while.

Nana, you’re one rocking’ 93 year old. Keep it up a while longer, ok?
