The Perfect Valentine's Dress
I’m such a sucker for Valentine’s Day! The pinks, the hearts, and an excuse to be all lovey-dovey!? Yes!
Our typical pattern for Valentine’s Day is that I take a “crafty” approach, and Drew gets me some kind of jewlery! Haha. It works out well for me! We started this when Drew was in college and I would mail him “Valentine’s boxes” to his dorm, and then post-grad I was too sentimental to change things at all! This year we have plans to go to Parkway, a couple-owned restaurant in our town, and I’m so excited to dress up! We haven’t had the chance to do anything like this in awhile and to make it extra special I ordered a few new dresses to try. While Valentine’s isn’t for another week, I had to show off this dress!
First off, the LENGTH! This mini is actually mini! As a 5’1 shortie, this is huge! And I love how the sheerness makes it a little sexier, but paired with these adorable flats it looks so sweet- I tried it with my Loeffler Randall platforms first but it wasn’t quite right.
I also never really wear red! I love pink (as you know), and in the summers I go for more neons or pastels (yeah I realize those are opposites but they also go together somehow…you know what I mean!) but red is never on my radar. When I ordered this I feared it would look too Christmassy, but the ROSES! This dress is covered in beautiful rose appliqués that make it an obvious Valentine’s Day (or “The Bachelor” lol) option! I also got Drew this tie to go with my new dress and it is cute as can be — and so affordable at under $50!
Happy Valentine’s Day, love bugs! I love you!
