Spring is (almost) in the air and some whiffs of freshness are just what I needed after an action-packed holiday season! I’m not usually one to jump into spring prematurely, mostly because it stays cold here (Maryland/Delaware) until the end of May. Cold being, below 70 degrees. Until then I’m still chilly. But this season, maybe because I can literally taste the salt water from my back porch, i’m a little more eager for summer and will take any good-weather day I can in the meantime.

This week there was a day on the forecast for 70 degrees. 70 degrees! So we made dinner reservations for 5:00 at a rooftop restaurant on the bay, and I ordered these pink pants. Duh. After spending the afternoon in Lululemon shorts and a t-shirt (yes, it was that nice!) I put on these cute cords and my favorite Steve Madden heels for a little evening out. It was just what we needed! Perfect for the weather, and it’s always fun when it warms up and everyone comes out of the woodwork for a night out. The bars were hopping!

The 24 hour temperature spike also got me inspired to update our entryway- because, like an outfit, your entryway makes the best first impression! I wanted it to be cheerful, bright, and functional - and I think it’s just that! The table we used was super budget friendly at under $100, and goes great in our space! We styled it with this Serena & Lily mirror (one of my favorite sale finds from back in our Blacksburg apartment!) and a precious, rattan parasol lamp I picked up at HomeGoods. Here’s a similar option! Our rug for the entry is this indoor/outfoor Annie Selke rug. Choosing an indoor/outdoor rug for this spot was one of my best decorating decision! It’s SO easy to vacuum, which is perfect with all the sand and dirty shoes that get brought in through the front door. It’s vibrant colors are really well placed there too!

As for the accessories, I just grabbed from what we had! Coffee table books are always great to tie together an entryway, as are framed photos and catchall trays. My favorite piece from this space is obviously the guard shack because 1. It’s SO cute, and 2. How fitting!? Like, this just makes sense!? I can’t find it online anywhere to link, but picked it up at Indigo Octopus (a Delaware shore boutique). It actually wasn't even for sale, they had it out as a prop! But I wasn’t leaving without it!

From our entryway it flows into the living space, and a little “hallway” that goes into the Dining Room… I guess I should share about those next?!

Cheers!
