So excited to finally be sharing our upstairs guest room, rightfully called ‘The Mermaid Room’! Inspired by my love of the ocean, mermaids and Lilly Pulitzer, this is the brightest, best room in the house. It started with these Lilly Pulitzer x PB Kids comforters and finished with a pink elephant from my childhood bedroom. It doesn’t get any sweeter than that!

These comforters are amazing and just what you want for a guest bedroom - none of that duvet nonsense! For pillows I went with a pink standard sham (set of 2 for $10 on Amazon!) and these blush tassel euro shams from PB Teen. After messing around with different layouts I landed on pulling the comforter back a bit on the bed to show off the crisp white sheets. It brightens up the room so much more! I wanted the room to scream “Beach Slumber Party!” and nothing feels more right than a mermaid theme! Plus, the comforters are in the fabric “Mermaid Cove” which could not be more perfect!

This shag trellis rug is from our Blacksburg apartment living area, and is so plush and feminine. Our overnight guests are always commenting on how much they love it, and the flamingo plaques! Ah! The most fun find ever! These are the size large from Z Gallerie. I was also able to pull a little bit of the mermaid theme into the bathroom next door with the most incredible glass tissue box holder and a timeless Vintage Barbie & Ken photograph - i’ve always wanted one and this was the perfect spot! My only regret is not getting the bigger size!

This room got so much use this past summer with people staying over or visiting us here in Bethany, and I was so glad to know it was a bright & cheerful space for our guests! Now that it’s mostly left empty, I love to go in there for my quiet time in the afternoons or sometimes just to chill and watch Netflix on my computer! All the color makes me so happy. I hope it makes you happy, too! Come ‘swim around’ anytime :)
